Tech Mahindra Expands Agentic AI Readiness with Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise cover

You have probably sat through a vendor webinar that promised production-ready AI, then watched the proof of concept stall in a governance review. Tech Mahindra and Google Cloud are betting that the gap between demo and deployment closes when you train thousands of engineers to build, secure and govern AI agents using the same tools they will hand to clients.

Tech Mahindra is rolling out Build with Gemini, a hands-on Google Cloud workshop, to more than 12,500 associates worldwide. Participants learn to create AI agents using Gemini Enterprise tools including Agent Runtime, Agent Gateway and Model Armor. Associates who complete the workshop earn a Google Cloud Skill Badge. The programme is part of Tech Mahindra's AI Delivered Right strategy, which focuses on translating AI innovation into responsible, secure and measurable enterprise outcomes.

What the workshop covers

Build with Gemini is designed as an immersive event. Attendees develop practical skills that can be applied directly into client engagements. The curriculum centres on three capabilities: creating AI agents, securing them and governing them in production environments. Google Cloud's Gemini Enterprise suite supplies the runtime, gateway and model-protection layer that participants use during the sessions.

Tech Mahindra's Chief Learning Officer, Pramod Panda, said, "Enterprise AI will scale only when organisations can combine technology innovation with the talent and delivery capability required to put it into production. Together with Google Cloud, we are building that capability by combining hands-on Gemini Enterprise expertise with industry solutions, agents and real-world deployment experience. This strengthens our ability to help clients move faster from AI ambition to measurable outcomes, consistent with our AI Delivered Right approach."

The workshop builds on Tech Mahindra's experience deploying Gemini Enterprise in complex enterprise environments and developing industry-specific agentic AI solutions across telecommunications, financial services, manufacturing, retail and other sectors. The company's expanding portfolio includes industry-specific solutions available through Google Cloud Marketplace, enabling customers to accelerate adoption of enterprise AI with capabilities designed for real-world business environments.

The production-readiness argument

Kelly Rogan, Vice President of Global System Integrators Partnerships at Google Cloud, said, "Enterprises are shifting rapidly from AI experimentation to deployment, where domain expertise and robust engineering matter most. By scaling Gemini Enterprise, Tech Mahindra equips its global teams to build, deploy and govern agentic AI solutions. Together, we are helping joint customers accelerate innovation and drive business value with Google Cloud."

Tech Mahindra's scaled readiness combines trained and certified talent with reusable industry solutions, production deployment experience and a growing portfolio of agentic AI solutions and agents. The partnership aims at scaling hands-on capabilities of Google Cloud Gemini Enterprise across Tech Mahindra's global workforce to support growing enterprise demand for production-ready AI. This combination is designed to help customers move from AI experimentation to implementation and adoption.

What this means for L&D and innovation leaders

The 12,500-person rollout signals that large system integrators are treating agentic AI literacy as a baseline capability, not a specialist skill. If your organisation is piloting AI agents, ask whether your internal teams and your implementation partners have hands-on experience with the runtime, gateway and governance tools you will need in production. A proof of concept that works in a sandbox often fails when it meets enterprise security, compliance and scale requirements.

Training at this scale also suggests that the market for agentic AI is moving faster than many enterprises anticipated. If you are still evaluating whether to invest in AI agent capabilities, consider that your competitors' implementation partners are already certifying thousands of engineers to deploy them. The gap between pilot and production is narrowing, and the organisations that close it first will set the pace for the rest of the sector.
